When Email Archiving is enabled on the EveryCloud email security platform, emails received from the Internet and delivered to Office 365 are automatically archived. Also outbound emails from Office 365 to the Internet are automatically archived if outbound email from Office 365 is routed via EveryCloud. The process documented in this article will setup archiving of emails sent/received internally within Office 365, i.e. archive emails that Office 365 users send each other and that have not been processed by the EveryCloud email security service. 


This is a three step process:


  1. Obtain your unique journaling address from EveryCloud Technologies support staff
  2. Add new journal rule
  3. Configure a connector for the journal reports


Step 1: Obtain you unique journaling address from EveryCloud Technologies support staff


Step 2: Add new journal rule



  • Navigate to Exchange admin center > compliance management > journal rules
  • Add an email address to send undeliverable journal reports to,
  • Click on the + symbol
  • In the field "Send journal reports to:", enter the email address supplied by the EveryCloud support team
  • Against "If the message is sent to or received from..." select "Apply to all messages" from the drop down
  • Against "Journal the following messages...", select "Internal messages only" from the drop down.
  • Click on Save. 

Step 3: Add a connector to route emails to the connector to the EveryCloud archive


  • Navigate to Exchange admin center > mail flow > connectors
  • Click on the + symbol
  • Name the connector "Email archive connector for journalling".
  • Tick the option to "Turn it on"



  • Click "Next"
  • Select "Only when email messages are sent to these domains"
  • Click on the + symbol
  • Edit the domain to "journal.antispameurope.com". Click on OK


  • Click "Next"
  • Select "Route email through these smart hosts"
  • Click on the + symbol
  • Edit the smart host and add "hsrelay01.antispameurope.com"
  • Click "Save"
  • Click "Next"
  • Use the default TLS settings
  • Click "Next" twice
  • Validate the the connector using the email address supplied by the EveryCloud support team

  • Click "Save"
